Sabina Bunt Thaler
Litigation Associate
Sabina Bunt Thaler is a litigation associate of the firm. She focuses her practice in the areas of construction law and criminal defense.
Ms. Thaler earned national recognition as a top-four finalist in the American Bar Association’s National Mediation Competition. As a student attorney with the Washington and Lee University School of Law Criminal Justice Clinic, Ms. Thaler was also honored with the top clinical student award for her commitment to advocacy and to fighting for her clients.
While at Washington and Lee University School of Law, Ms. Thaler served as Editor in Chief of the Washington and Lee Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice (“JCRSJ”) and taught legal research and writing to first-year students as a Burks Scholar.

Ms. Thaler has clerked for the Capital Defender of Virginia; John Lichtenstein, of LichtensteinFishwick PLC; the Honorable James Clark; and the Miami Public Defender.

Sabina’s publications span several mediums, including the Associated Press, JCRSJ, MTV News, and a feature in Greenhaven Press’s “At Issue” series. As the Virginia Correspondent for MTV’s 2008 Choose or Lose coverage, Sabina traveled across the Commonwealth, harnessing the extraordinary power of the media to give a voice to the struggles of ordinary Americans.
Life Beyond the Bar
Ms. Thaler enjoys running and rooting for her Hokies. She also plays golf and supports the dog and cat adoption efforts of local shelters.
